ABout the Author

The life of a preacher's kid is more common than many realize, yet its pressures are rarely discussed openly. I was born June 19, 1947, in a large family of 6 brothers and three sisters. This is my story, my lifelong journey as a community advocate, mentor, activist, social justice empowerer, teacher, and student and ordained organizer. I talk about those “dark days” when I was enraged and overwhelmed with racism and racial injustice and took things into my own hands. But God had a different plan and purpose for my life.
